The Alabama Department of Transportation’s Human Resources Bureau (HR) operates under the direction of the Director of the Alabama Department of Transportation. The Bureau Chief is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of programs associated with the administration of an Equal Employment/Affirmative Action Program (EEO/AAP) and the activities related with the operation of a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program. The Bureau Chief also assists with the monitoring of compliance activities related to the Reynolds vs. ALDOT litigation. The bureau monitors the implementation and adherence to federal and state laws, regulations and guidelines issued by such agencies to ensure compliance with the related laws.
The Human Resources Bureau Chief is responsible for delegating the administration and management of six (6) major operational areas of responsibility which incorporate; (1) On-the-Job Training; (2) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program, Supportive Service Programs; (3) Consent Decree Compliance Unit; (4) Title VI Program; (5) Title VII Program; and (6) Contract Compliance Program. Additionally, the bureau is responsible for the production of an annual Affirmative Action Plan, which is submitted to the Federal Highway Administration for review and approval.
